Welcome to my practice. I provide therapy for individuals, couples and teens, addressing a wide range of issues including anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues, and trauma. I have in depth experience working with all forms of anxiety, and specific expertise with obsessive compulsive disorders. Another specialty of mine is grief and loss, as I have both personal and professional experience supporting folks through grief. I have extensive experience and training working with couples, and I have had success supporting couples in untangling unconscious dynamics and patterns. I also really love working with adolescents, as I find this age of development to be very psychologically rich and important.
I provide a warm, collaborative space where reflection and deep thinking are possible and lasting change can be cultivated. I work with individuals toward strengthening their capacity to build healthy relationships, developing a more integrated sense of self and to live a meaningful life. I believe we all have the capacity to heal if we pay close attention to our inner wisdom. I work as a guide, helping you to uncover that innate wisdom, which can become obscured by old ways of relating to oneself and the world. Together, we will identify and explore these patterns of behavior and negative self perceptions that may hold you back from a life of balance, vitality and inner peace.
My work is most influenced by relational psychodynamic theory. This means that I seek to understand your past as well as your present experience, especially through the lens of our relationship. My approach is also influenced by attachment theory, Jungian theory and family systems theory. My manner is compassionate and empathic, as I believe that understanding is the foundation for healing.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from the University of California at Santa Cruz. I have a Master’s in Integral Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies. I completed The Psychotherapy Institute’s two-year post-graduate training program in relational depth psychotherapy. I continue to expand my expertise with trainings and consultation as I am deeply dedicated to the work I do. I understand that the search for the right therapist can be challenging. Finding the right fit is so important. If you have any questions about my work, I encourage you to contact me at (510) 292-4439.
